New alternator and battery ? Where to get

Hey all, been awhile since i posted since i've been ****ed off at my cars last dyno run i've decided to stop putting money into performance and start working more on my audio system (and styling)....

Well in the next 2 weeks i'm going to be doing a big overhaul to me audio system including a new deep cycle battery (maybe 14.4v) and definitely a new alternator since my lights already dim when the bass hits as my system is....

Speaking of which heres what i have and what i'll be replacing...
Alpine mp3/cd deck
2 polk audio 6 1/2 ex's in front
2 pioneer 6x9's in the rear
1 12" audiobahn aw1206t 2200 watt max sub
500 watt fosgate amp pushing sub (replacing)
200 watt crunch amp pushing highs (replacing)

I'm getting either an audiobahn or alpine amps (at least 1500watts for my subs) and at least 300 watts for my highs and i want to know in your opinions which i should go for, also i want to know if i can charge a 14.4v battery and my stock battery together (with a new alternator obviously) and if so where can i get a good 14.4 battery for a good price and a new alternator that is strong enough to power all this stuff?

If you're going to spend a lot of money on the system do it right. Stay away from the audiobahn unless you're goin for the bling bling. Diamond Audio, Rainbow, Arc, Eclipse. All are awesome as far as amps, subs, speakers. Eclipse makes a 8V HU which is the highest on the market and makes everything else in the system sound good.

I have Eclipse components, Eclipse amps but my subs are pioneer and they're suckin **** because they're at 3 ohms. I think I'm gonna need to add line drivers soon.

But anyway, if you seriously want a "sound" system. Get the good stuff.

Just some info I learned from Don (Pearl96max) my mentor

I have Eclipse head, 2 Eclipse amps, and the amp i have was eclipse's biggest amp like 2 years ago i think peaks at 1100watts and that goes to a 15 inch eclipse aluminum sub. With a 1 farad cap and a die hard battery your fine. Although my alternator die 2 weeks ago and Nissan was telling me my 4 gauge wire may be the stress maker on the alternator but i don't think so. I would do with a yellow top battery and u should be fine. Yeah i agree with conrad about Audiobahn, Focal makes great speakers. I use the poly kev's in the front ande they are amazing. Good thing you are replacing FARTFORD FOSCRAP.

4 gauge wire was likely the killer. Could also be some connection issues. Stock alternator is good for about 2000 watts of music in the 4th gen maxima. Remember 2000 watts of music is dynamic power, not constant. Average amp draws are a fraction (1/3 or less) of the max draw.

Second battery could kill the alt. Unless you listen with the engine off there is no need for a second battery. 14.4 volts is not a standard car battery voltage, nor is it divisible by 2.1. 14.4 volts is typical alternator charging voltage.

If you have dimming lighs with less than 1000 watts you likely have faulty wiring and a cheap amp without power supply caps.

i agree 4 gauge and i have a 2 amps that peak 1100 and at 800 watts with a 1 farad cap. My stock alt is fine. Just make sure u get a decent battery. I don't think that is true if your lights dim less than 1000 watts you likely have faulty wiring or a cheap amp. It really just depends on how much current you draw. Faulty wiring ends with bad sound, no sound, not turning on, or fried parts.

Bad wiring is high in resistance, therefore voltage drop. Could be poorly connected ends, tight bends in wire, too long of wire or a bunch of other stuff I have seen.

Cheap amp does not have the power supply capacitance of a higher quality amp, therefore the voltage drops and the lights dim.

Oh, I also have 0 gauge wire all the way back to the distribution block where it splits to 4 ga to each amp
