recommended replacement speakers?

Hi,

I've got a Clarion DXZ-835MP right now with an adapter running through the factory Bose speakers. In the next month or two I'd like to take the rest of the Bose system out and run the head unit right to the speakers (not investing in any amps right now). The head unit is 18 x 4 RMS (53 x 4 peak).

I'd like to put 6.5" components in the front (unless I hear a good reason not to), and I've already got a sub to put in the trunk. Anyone have a good setup they're fond of?

Components are the best to get. But if you want to get some good sounds from your speakers you will need an amp. I tried running some 200w speakers from my HU (19w x 4 RMS, 50x 4 peak) and they wasn't getting anything good. But then I got a cheap ebay amp for 35 shipped and I immediately heard a big difference. I am buying some cheap components until the summertime. I good sets cost like 150-200. Get something cheap and see if you like it then get something better IMO. Good luck on your system.

those seem like they might be pretty good. can I fit round speakers in the rear deck? or would have to go with another brand for the back?

those will be fine for the fronts but i guess your talking about 6x9's for the back. if your car has stock 6x9 then id look into to infinity 6x9's online.
