infamous backseat

Ok, so ive been wandering...can this back seat be removed and re-installed quite easily? Or is it a one time thing..I've been trying to think about it since i hate not having the ability of it to fold Any writeups, links, or explanations would be and thank you for probably answering a much discussed forum thread

The back seat is pretty easy to deal with. Would be much nicer if it could fold though.

You basically pull 2 tabs, unscrew 4 screws, lift it up and out and that's about it.

I know on the 3rd gens, the seat bottom can be a b*tch to pull up the first few times. I literally had to pry mine up with a little crowbar. But it gets easier and easier to remove. I can take it out now with little effort.

I had to take out the backseat totally one time when my trunk wouldn't open...pretty easy...but i do have a big question...there is a peice of metal behind the seat *i have no clue what it does* it runs the full span of the back seat, but will come out if u want....if i took that metal peice out would i hear my subs a little more?? And what downfalls would i have for taking it out??

Yea i wouldnt suggest taking it out. Even if you did you wouldnt get a noticeable difference in sound.
