Basslink install options...

I'm risking criticism by asking this, but please help out if you can.

I would like to get a basslink (good comments about it, takes up litle space, don't need major THUMP) -- I have a 2k2 w/ Bose.

I have seen some of the other ORGers' installs and was wondering if this would work for me:

Can I use the speaker level inputs and tap into the INPUT rear speaker wires as they go into the BOSE AMP in the trunk? I would of course run a power wire from the battery and everything...

Has anyone done it this way? I really don't want to dig my radio out of the dash and add a PAC, run RCA cables, etc. etc.

TIA,
ARFF

Come on guys....no one?

Should I ask a "What kind of head unit" question?

I went the PAC/RCA path, so it's all plug and play. Also makes it easier when I upgrade the HU, sub, etc... in the future.

I do remember someone used the line level wires, and I think they tapped into the sub in the rear deck for signal?

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, I read a couple of write-ups, and one was a 2k1 with non-bose and for some reason the other one was different as well. I'm pretty sure it would work, but I just wanted the thumbs up from someone with the EXACT same setup as me.

I don't remember the write-ups...no search really kills me!

Triple8,

I just noticed your cardomain page. Did you screw into the trunk floor to mount yours? I assume there is no danger of hitting the fuel tank and such over there?

That's where I'm putting mine as well...
