H.O. Alternators ?????????
Deezo,
Wouldn't it be cheaper to have your factory alternator rewound to produce more output. Also, wouldnt this eliminate the mounting bracket issues since the case is basically stock? I'm just asking because on my 68 drop top I opted for march billet aluminum underdrive pulleys which caused severe headlight dimming & a stereo was completely out of the question. So after researching I found a local company that rewound my alternator so it would produce 180amp's and the cost was around $180 dollars. I'm just asking because I would consider investing in a HO alternator but it seems more logical after reading the problems you had with mounting the larger unit. Is it even possible for the factory alternator to be modified?
