Passport 8500 malfunction

My 8500 is messing up. Every time I turn it on, I get the K band alert. It stays at 2/3 to 3/4 signal strength all the time. I have done the reset...no luck. I checked the manual and this issue is not listed in the 'troubleshooting' section.

Has anyone else had this happen? What did you do?

My unit is more than a year old, so I think it's out of warranty.

Well, now it's happening about 3/4 of the time which is better, but I'm srill pi$$ed.

The Escort website was no help. There's no 'tech' section on it.....

No one has experienced this?

well guys..either

1) send it in for repair...

or

2) sell it.

no way to reset it.

i left mine unplugged for 1/2 the day. remounted it, plugged it back in, and it's working fine.
