From the impact of the sub They literally bounce anywere from .5-1" depending on the note being played ...as for the windsheild, yeah my front windsheild flexes a bit too. Once again depends more on what note is being played, I havnt gone upto the front of the car and put my hand on the lower part of the windsheild so im not sure how much it flexes there, but inside near the top I can feel it flexing a bit if I put my hand on it.

The sub is a Adire Audio-Brahma MKII 15"
The amp, is a Directed 1500d (id go with another brand if I were to do it again) Probably a JL 1000.1 or a Hifonics Brutus 1500d.
Its in a 3.5ft^3 ported to 28hz.

Dang HitManSE thats freaking SICK!!!!
I just wanted the latch to pop open, since my little cable is broken to open my trunk, i figured if i could get enough pressure i would be able to pop my trunk open and have access to it with out having to use the key.

Thanks. However I still see no reason in doing such a thing. If I didnt have a latch it would probably push it open but I doubt it will blow it open as it is In not trying to insult you man, its just very strange. Another thing is your trunk lid would just be flopping around so...there just is no point to it. Just get your latch cable fixed & call it a day.

Wow...Is this for real?! WTF?! Here's an idea, set up some relays with your trunk latch and an electric linear actuator. Set up the system somehow to open when the volume/bass gets to a certain level. This is a sure fire way to get in the girls pants. HA!

Ya cuz they'll be so dizzy and confused from all the bass he'll just sneak in there...

why not hook up some CO2 and pop that thing in the air.....good luck on the ride home, no trunk lid and all.

to the fella that asked about running over 1000 watts, i run a legacy 1200w amp for my subs and a pioneer 200w for my front speakers, on the stock alt with an everstart 630 or somthin CCA starting battery and an everstary maxx marine in the trunk..it eliminated my headlights dimming when i had it cranked..i think i've finally fried the alt though..or somthing related..cause now, when the car is shut off or at LOW idle, the amp is fine, but if the engine hits even 800+ rpm, the amp is starved for power..never done that before..hopefully it'll be my single 8 ga ground that connects the batteries being insufficient..i took my 2g ground cable off the rear battery to reterminate it after 1 of the terminals kinda corroded (long story, not gonna get into it) and not the alt, but I fear the worst...now that I'm done hijacking, i'll let people get back to dreaming about blowing their trunk lids off..

why does everyone mention the CCA rating of their batteries? when talking about capacity to run a system it is the Ah rating that means something, not the CCA rating.

I just am wondering if its even physically possible to blow open a trunk because the Latch is Hella big so i dunno.
I don't even think 600 W rms is enough to push that properly, let alone blow open the trunk...

I had two 10" M6's (but they were too heavy for my car)

so I downgraded to a Diamond CM3 10" and I have 600 W RMS going to it..

Don't you need like 800 - 1000 rms for the Diamond 12?
