Things that make me go hmmmmm

just today alone i read 4 posts about stolen max and i dont want to join the statistics of stolen max. So i think its time to come up with new alarm system for my baby. just a few questions

1 whats the best aftermarket alarm system
2 will an aftermarket system allow me to roll down my windows like the factory alarm does
3 how hard is it to add a shock sensor to the aftermarket system
4 any links to websites that give good detail about alarm system

Those four places were probably Chicago, LA, NYC, and Miami. You live in gaithersburg, MD. Why are you scared?

Directons for a shock sensor can be found here http://www.rcreations.com/public/CoD...e,0t,P=27.html
There is one at VQ power also but its more involved.

The viper 791xvr already has a starter shutdown...so when your alarm is set off, nobody can start your car.

If you get an alarm just make sure a good installer puts it in. I bought a Clifford Intelligard (some number) with all kinds of whistles...shock sensor, interior & exterior motion detectors etc. I ended up paying close to a 1G for it and it always went off even with the motion detectors disabled. It took them forever to try and integrate the stock and the Clifford alarms. Apparently they were not successful. Now I have it in constant valet mode. So I paid close to 1000 bucks for a red light on my dash.

Good Luck!

i was going to get an alarm that looked great. it came with this beeper looking thing that told you what was happening to the car. Now i dont know much about alarms but the people that are going to steal the car know what they are doing. Wont they just cut the master wire and disable the system? I say, the club for the clutch pedal, 2 kill switches and the fuse is a good idea. After my last one got stolen a few months ago, i try to do what i can to keep her in my hands and not some thieves.

...i dont believe in aftermarket alarms really..you get tickets if they go off for more than 5 minutes without PROOF that somone tried to break into your car (badly damaged locks, broken glass, etc) around here..and thats a good thing, because people will set your alarms off just because you have one and they know it..
