troubleshooting...amp, HU, or crossovers?
sorry, this is for my '93 SE-R...
I installed the much acclaimed (by me) Pioneer DEH-M990DSP and my Alpine 3527S 4 channel amplifier.
I also have Diamond M6 6.5 components (new off of ebay)
the sound quality is intermitten..
usually it sounds like the highs are cutting out (which makes me think it's the crossover) but I wonder if an old HU that is going bad, or an old Amp that is going bad could pick and choose frequencies that it decides to stop sending to the speakers?
I haven't ruled out bad wiring, but I doubt that is the problem. Any ideas?
ask questions if you need more info.

I would like to say that it is the crossover too, but you should try to narrow down the problem by first trying some different speakers from the amp. Nothing elaborate, even the old factory one would do if you have them or some small home speakers, heck maybe even one of your computer speakers. Hook it up to the amp and see if the problem still exists. If it does then it is not the crossover. Then you have to determine if it is the amp or the HU by pretty much the same method.

damn, now I really think it's the crossovers, today the tweeters were playing, but the mids weren't.
what a bunch of junk....I should have stuck with buying from an authorized dealer...
I bought these Diamond M6 6.5 components from indoaudio on ebay, they have 12000 positive feedbacks, and 99% approval rating...
but the 1% are probably people that held off giving feedback until the installed thier components and they worked like new.
