Will this setup be louder than a Bose?

Regular Pioneer deck that produces 22x4 RMS

30WATT RMS speakers in front & BACK

Total RMS = 88

Will this be louder than a Bose? Speakers are made by Pioneer and Kenwood. $50 pair.

How many RMS is a bose system?

The power of a Bose system is only part of the equation. You also need to know the sensitivity of the Bose speakers. (Bose doesn't publish any specs of their speakers) and the distortion of their head unit at the rated power.

Keeping all things equal, doubling the power will only give you a 3db increase.

Louder and Sound Better are two different things. Like Robert J posted above, there are many other factors involved. Your HU is rated at 22x4 RMS, but probably only really puts out maybe 15Wx4. Not a big difference, but it is about 35% less power. Since the specs on the Bose is unknown it is hard to compare without listening. Will it Sound Better? Quite possibly. THere is an old saying for Bose that would pertain more to its home stuff, but I have noticed it somewhat on my current Bose system in the Max. No highs, no lows...must be Bose. Bose seem to be very midrangey to me. Those speakers might actually better produce the entire frequency range. I don't think it would hurt.
