Need quality advise please?

Hey guy's,

I'm looking for a nice 5 channel amp. I am running a PPI 5440 right now & it works beautifully but I am looking for something that can send alittle more power to my 12W6v2 JL sub. The PPI is only producing 200w RMS @ 2ohms. Don't get me wrong is sounds great and all of my buddies & you guy's would probably tell me I'm crazy for even thinking about altering anything with my system. But I know that I'm grossly under powering my sub & I want alittle more of that euphoric body tingle the girly's dig ya know?

Anyway, I have been checking around & have been having a hard time locating anything worth purchasing & forcing me to put the PPI on the bench? Best I've been able to locate is a 5 channel Kicker amp that makes about 300w RMS @ 4ohms, but I'm not about to replace my PPI with a Kicker anything. No hard feelings to all you Kicker fans. So here is what I'm looking for any links or advise would be greatly appriciated. Thanks alot!!!!!

"Please no generic brands" eg: MTX, Crunch, Pyle, Boss, etc.

5 channel amp w/ power ratings based on 12.5v or lower would be nice.
75w RMS x 4 @ 4ohms (minimum)
400w RMS x 1 @ 4ohms (minimum)
Parametric EQ w/ Q bass (centering adjustability optional but prefered)

Thats about it!!!

Never mind fella's. Just went out to the garage & checked my settings and there is a ton more adjustment left on the amp. Gains aren't even turned up a 1/4 of the way. I have no idea why my system sounds so good with such alittle amount of power. Is that normal for such a little amount of power?

If it sounds good, leave it alone. Don't use the gains like a volume control. You will only introduce noise that wasn't there before. Your amp makes the exact same amount of power gain up or down.

If you are really looking for an alternative, why not simply add a mono amp? It will keep your signal clean w/o overdoing it.

Pearl96Max,
Thanks for the info, thats one thing that my amp didn't come with was the rating sheet. I'm just taking those figures from the amp's manuel.

Skyrockerr,
Well in my opinion it sounds really really well. My friend is an audio engineer & works for a studio called Rumbo Records & he has mentioned to me that not even there studio monitors sound as nice as my car audio system. Now I took that as a super compliment because the equiptment they have in the studio is second to none. So I'm not really tooting my own horn here. I'm usually the one who has complaints about my system & everyone else tells me to leave it be. Heres a list of my equipt.
Eclipse H/U model# CD8443 (8v) preouts
PPI Amp model# 5440 (5 channel)
JL Audio model# ZR650-csi (2 sets F&R)
JL Audio 12W6v2 (single sub in slot port enclosure)
All wiring is more then suitable to handle the job.
I would have opted for a JL Audio amp but I was able to trade an old Willie Mays baseball card for the PPI amp brand new in the box. Willie Mays only costed me about $5 bucks when I was around 12 yrs old. So I considered the trade valid.

JaimeCBR900,
Thanks for the info about the gains. I usually test my amplifiers with a volt meter to make sure there producing a certain voltage to the speaker outputs. I probably won't abjust my gains at all, but I do have quite a bit of adjustement left on my Qbass. I surely can turn that thing up to +3db & plenty satisfied. What is +3db anyway like double the output or something?
