my aftermarket system sounds like stock help!

Here's what I have, alpine type R components in the front with the tweeters mounted in the stock tweeter position, the rear holds kappas 6.5's 2 ways powered by a soundstream rubicon 600 watt 4 channel amp. Kenwood kdc 659 excelon HU as the source. I also have two 12" old rockford fosgate subs powered by a 150 watt kenwood amp. When my friends sit in my car they ask me if the speakers are stock

With this setup I think I should hear at least a lil difference but sadly I don't. I just hear stock tunes with heavy bass. I've had this setup for a coupla months now but it's really starting to bug me. The speaker wires and power wires are on opposite ends. The installation was a clean one. What could be wrong?

Check your gain. Check your grounds from the front door speakers. Did you replace the speaker wires going to the doors or use the stock wire. Other than that I would guess something went wrong with the amp. These are just some of the basics things to check and varify. Also check the h/u's output. Maybe an internal eq setting is limiting it's output.

Your strength is your frontage amp- try sound deadning the doors first- it will benefit your mids greatly

If that doesn't satisfy your fronstage needs try some high fidelity components.....Rainbow, DLS,Bostons, Focal,ID's, OZ Matrix's etc........

I should have said 'higher fidelity' components, which are made by companies that have dedicated themselves to speaker making, as the ones I listed above- I forgot a few....CDT makes great components as well-Speakers are the most important aspect of a sound system

Alpine, although a great company, has yet to impress me in the speaker dept-
but like I suggested first, a well sound deadened door can go along way in improving a midrange's output

Your post sounded more like you were bragging about your bottom of the bucket Focals, glad you like'm
