2 Decks Tape/CD,Hookup??????
I already have a Sony tape player in my car(I have over 800 tapes and only 100 cd's)I want to get either an add on cd player to it runs through the radio I also thought about a changer but location will be aggrevating,I want to buy a cd player to put under my tape deck in the opening...I know about doulbe din's but don't want one....how would I hook up both to play....????
My idea it this.....I have my deck pushing my door and rear deck speakers...and on my preamp output my rca's up to a sub amp....rear....would I just double splice both speaker outputs from both decks and split the rca's???? and wire it with the same ground, power, and acc, wire and just have it where I cannot play them both ...what about radio presets in each and clock....can I have it wired together where I cut the tape on a have the cd off and vice versa....?????help me please.....

you could do it
but for all that trouble i would go with a double din ( i know you said you didnt want one) you may run into problems with the power back up if it is not spliced right.
Of course its possible but i wouldn't run them both at the same.
When i worked at the stereo shop we had done one of these in an old truck (restored) where we mounted the cd player under the dash but we used all new power leads and just tapped into the speaker wires so that the old radio still worked.
