PLease help with install..pretty long

I have 2 problems that I need help with. I am somewhat of an audio newb and tried installing my radio this weekend with a couple of my friends. I was swapping my entire bose system out with a Pioneer cd/dd.mp3 radio along with a microvision 7" and some Pioneer 3 ways.

1. Now I bought a factory harness and tried to match up all the wires. I then noticed that there were about 3 extra Black wires left over. I know one needs to be grounded, but what are the other 2 for???? Well after I put the radio in, i installed 2 of the speakers, and they sounded fine.(I checked to see if they were crossed) Pretty siked about how the install was goin...I decided to tackle the back speakers. Well my boy beat me to the punch; before I had a chance to re-disconnect the battery. Then....Pop!!...I saw a spark by the rear speaker that he was working on. I let the radio play for about 20 seconds longer and shut the car off. After we finished wiring up the 3rd speaker I turned on the car to check it out...AND NOW I GET NO SOUND ATT ALL!!! is my radio ****ed up or did I just wire it wrong. Now all I hear is a whining sound when I drive around. or whenever I hit the accelerator. PLEASE HELP.... BTW he headunit still plays and reads the disk and everything. Also, when Put the radio on....I didnt hear anything. It only worked when I played the CD

2. I have no idea how to hook up the microviosion. I bought it used from Ange (redlinemax). And she had 3 thin wires: red, orange and black, and what looked like an 1 RCA plug with a yellow head. But it was the female end, and the back of my radio was also a male end so I spliced it and put a female end on the back of the one coming from the back of the TV....but when i wired it all up...NOTHING SHOWED. the DVD played...but I could see anything.

Well when installing an aftermarket HU it is not recommended using the factory ground. What you want to do is take the ground wire off of the new HU and connect it directly to bare metal (chassis ground).

As for the micrvision, Black is ground, Red and Orange is +12V I would suggest you putting a switch to one of the +12V wire. And the RCA is your Video input to the screen.

As far as your HU being F'ed if you saw sparks, there is a chance that it is, but without seeing it, it is difficult to say. If you were close by I would hook you up.

That's a tough question to answer. you may have damaged it with whatever caused the spark. you may also have damaged it by playing it with only 3 speakers hooked up. It's called an impedance mismatch. the whining sound you hear is ground noise. Like Dohcser said, try regrounding it. Once it's regrounded, make sure all speakers are hooked up, and try again...with the volume low! The microvision screen will need the red (+12v), the black (ground), and the video input(yellow) hooked up. The orange wire is a remote turn on. You can hook it up to the radio's "remote" wire, a switch, or just leave it disconnected. Leaving it disconnected allows you to turn the screen on/off with the remote control only. If you run into more problems, feel free to ask questions. I've done two of those screens in maximas. Good luck.
