CD in GPS on 2002 Maxima?

I was just wondering if you could play music cds through your GPS unit in the 2002 Maxima. I noticed that this guy (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/300646/3)had found out how to do it, but i cant figure it out, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Don't know how different the '02 is, but in my '03 you just flip down the screen, eject the map CD and put in the music CD. Player controls appear on the nav screen instead of the map.

I've got the changer, too and it works just fine. Is it a standard (pre-recorded) CD or a CD-R (home-burned)? I know CD-Rs occasionally don't play in the changers, don't know if it's the same for the dash players. I don't remeber what mode the radio should be in when playing a CD in the nav (and my manual is in the car). Try changing modes...and even turning the radio off. I'll look in my manual when I remember.

I turned my radio off and it still did not work. I keep getting the disc not accepted message. I try putting the disc in before i turn the car on, after the car is on and ejecting the mab disc and then putting the cd in and it still doesnt work, each time i have tried it has been legit pressed cds, not cd-rs.

Wewll, I can't figure it out. How many different CDs have you tried? I think I have had an error or two (but I think it was with map CDs), but I just ejected the reinserted the disc and all was well.
Well, according to my nav owners manual "When a music CD is inserted into the system, the operation screen will appear automatically."
Here's what I did. Ejected the map CD, put in a music CD (Rancid, Life Won't Wait). Radio was off. When the music CD was inserted head unit showed "AUX" and nav screen was on the "screen saver". Turned off the head unit. Pressed the map button. Music CD controls show up on screen and head unit displays "AUX" again and music plays. Shut off radio. Nav radio controls disppear from screen. I did have the magzine out of the changer, but I have used the nav player while CDs were in the changer.
