Installed some neons in the trunk.....
...they turn on when the trunk is opened. I just wired them in with the existing trunk light and added a fuse.
My kinda mod. Looks great reflecting off the aluminum subs and silver amps, now if I only had a scanner to show it off.
I guarantee that my trunk is now visible by satellite at night time.
Just felt like sharing.

Yah its easy...
...just take off the rear deck and splice into the wire that runs to the existing trunk light. Then run that wire to a fuse to be safe and your ready to connect some neons.
I am trying to get my friend to scan some pics up for me.

So what kind of a system are we talking about here Brigboy? SQ or the ever popular SPL!! I'm kind of a tweener myself. I love SQ, but I have to be able to crank it up every once and a while. I guess that's why I'm going to have 2 12's with 350W a piece in the trunk!! Oh Yeah!!!
BRIGBOY, I'm not too much of an audio guy, but I do my own wiring on most things. I've spliced into plenty of wires as power, but I've never put a fuse in between them. How exactly did you do it? Sometimes I've run wires into slots for fuses (i.e. for black lights), but I've never stuck a fuse where one wasn't previously. Did you just solder the wires onto the fuse or something and mount it somewhere?

xhypex: if you go to radio shack you can get an inline fuse. basically, it's a little fuse holder that you stick a fuse into and it has two wires - one going in and one going out. You jsut splice the wires to that, kinda putting the fuse in the middle of the wiring.
did i read somewhere someone was boasting about 350W speakers each in the trunk?? MWAHHAHAHAHAHA, i have 1200 Watt speakers each in my trunk.. thats why i cant hear out of my left ear anymore.. im just messin, bored out of my mind, i might try that neon job with the trunk one i finish my bottom out box.. peace
I want to see what this looks like also. . . I was thinking of getting some lights to show off my chrome PPI amps, although they look like mirros, so placement would be the key to making them look good.
as of now i have x3 neons in my trunk. Two on the upper deck lid (15" blue) and one 10" blue at the front of the trunk where the latch is,this is for my aluminum 12" Eclipse sub. The top 15" and bottom 10" are on a switch custom hidden on left trunk panel. And the other 15" is wired up to the other x4 10" blue neons under the dash and front seats. Plus i have x2 6" mini blue neons at the top pillars for the front seat belts to show off my interior goodies
