don't listen to him. do the big 3 first. I myself got two caps, one 1 farad and the other 0.5...didn't do ****. I haven't gotten around to doing the big 3 yet but pretty much EVERYONE i know that's done it simply disregards the idea of an HO alt and caps. If you don't know what it is, it's basically adding new wiring to the stock wiring from your bat neg to chassis, alt to bat pos, and chassis to engine block/alternator. Should help most of your dimming and voltage drop problems. Of course if you have a super buff amp you're gonna need an ho alt regardless, but for the most part the big 3 is supposed to take care of things.

ighettoboyi, is partially correct. CAPS are great for smoothing out voltage spikes as they store energy for the quick BASS burst. I would definately do the BIG 3 as stated. However if this does not help and you had the finance to get a High Output Alternator, then I would suggest that you do. Otherwise turn down the gain on the amp

How much would it cost to do the big 3? I'm going to be pushing two jl 500/1 and I'm wondering about what to do since I think my lights will dim. Are there instructions for the big 3 in faq?
