how do i hook up a amp meter gauge???

how do i hook up a amp meter gauge??? No one will answer me in the 4th gen forum, so i will try here. do you know and where to hook up the positive and negitive wires. I already have the in the engine bay all i need to do not it put the on somehting.

what does it tell you, the volts? if so its just a power cable that goes in and comes out the other side.

correct me if I'm wrong. I'm going by a guess cause I don't know what you have

it is a amp meter...it measures amps i guess, it measures the charging and decharging of the battery. but you cannot just simply connect it to the battery. I have no clue on what to do. i got it for free and bought a gauge pod and got another guage for free so i have eveything in just need to know where to connect it.

who is the manufacturer of this gauge? it only has 2 wires? how thick (what gauge) are those wires? ammeters are to be connected in series with whatever device you are trying to monitor (that is of course if is that type of gauge). the more popular ammeters use what is called a sending unit to monitor amperage. the display would get a positive and negative connection, and a connection for the sending unit. the sending unit is a round clamp (usually pastic) that gets clamped around the power wire of whatever you are trying to monitor. for anyone that wants to know how that works, its called the "Hall Effect"

the manufactur is hiper. they made set of indiglo's for4 our cars and i got all matching gauges. I am useing 14 gauge wire, and just need somewhere to hook it up.the wires run fomr the gauge to outside the car.

i would like to moniter my chargeing or something useful that goes up to 60 "amps". what would be good to hook it up t and how would i got about doign this.

i dont know how 14awg wire will hold up with 60amps going through it. can you send a link to this gauge on some website?
