Please help newb to match the amp for 2 JL 12W0!
Even though I've been actively reading this Audio forum and other info sites, I am still totally new to car audio and how to put all this togather. Anyways, to start off, I decided to put togather some simple but affordable system (I am on a very tight budget) and I acquired used JL Audio 12W0-4 @ 125RMS each.
I was trying to figure out what amp to choose to power them, but I'm not sure if I do it right (ohms, watts etc.) I really want remote bass boost though..
Here is an affordable Alpine MRP-M350
or Kenwood KAC-8151D with bass boost
or INFINITY REFERENCE 7520a
Thank you !!!

Vlad I understand that you are on a tight budget but understand that you get what you pay for, especially on ebay. You might want to look into the JL Audio 250/1 it is resonably priced.
As far as Ohms, I believe the 12W0 is a single 4 Ohm voice coil. What this means is that you have three choice.
1. Wire each sub directly to a two channel amp.
2. Series both subs, but this will give you 8 ohms, this is not recommended as you will not get the full potential of the amp.
3. Parallel both subs this will give you 2 ohms on a single channel, most reputable Mono amps will handle 2 ohms with ease, but keep in mind you want to stay around the 300W RMS range.
The JL Audio amp puts out the same wattage at 4 and 2 ohms.

Vlad, you will not be dissapointed as you do not need a big amp for those subs and since you are not up to par on car audio (said it yourself) the 250/1 is easy to use and have many features for the price. It has a crossover and Q settings you will find this beneficial especaially the Q settings.
