Eclipse AV 8022

tested PoLo's head unit tonight with the oscilloscope. sub output was tested using a 30Hz test tone. volume up to 79 was undistored with no clipping. at 80 (the highest voilume setting), there was distortion. EQ settings were flat.

manny...he's talking about why the signal cuts off when the horn is honked or a window rolls up or down...and no, we haven't figured that out yet.

Mind if I ask what setting you O-scope was on for looking at distortion? Because since distortion is induced closer to the noise floor at higher frequency and the O-Scope may be setup only to see the 30Hz sine wave it will not be visible without drilling more into the signal. Clipping will definately be visible.

it was no longer a pure sine wave at that point. the waveform was distored drastically.

I guess there was a predicesor to this email about the symptoms. But what I can pick out is that when he hits the horn the music clips? Is it just the bass or everything? If so I take it you all checked the grounds?

the sub output and the high pass output loses signal totally when the horn is pressed or window is rolled up and down. all grounds/cables were checked.

I call for a complete gut and rewire of Marco's car- between the alarm, voltage meter, gamepube, and mad accesories and grounds- it could be hard to backtrack- he's got alot going on in there
