Remote Start for a 5spd

I only drive to and from my apartment to Va Tech(5 mins max) during the week...so basically the max barely gets a chance to warm up...has anyone or does anyone have a auto start on their 5 spd max. I understand the logistics of why we don't see these at all on them but, is there a way to kill the auto start if the car is in gear?? What are my options, if any?

They did have the wire where you could enable the car to not start unless it was in park or neutral. but they now made it illegal to be installed, and if god forbid you dont install that wire someone could get killed and its not a thing to joke around with IMO

No way to determine if it's in gear, AFAIK... but I say it isn't worth it. For one thing, letting your engine warm up idling isn't the best way to warm it up.

remote start

I have the clifford alarm w/ remote start on my 6 spd Max.
Everything is installed correctly so it will not start if in gear.
Works great.

I've heard that many places around here won't do it for a MT because of the in-gear, not in-gear issue....

For the 2000-2003, it's completely possible to wire it up correctly. However, most DEI (Viper/Clifford/etc) dealers will not install it because of the liability factor.

Pin #44 at the ECU is the PNP wire. It's green with a white stripe.
