AOEM-NIS2 install

How difficult is the AOEM-NIS2, to install in a 2000 I30t. Is anyone currently using this? What is the sound quality to the subs?
Thanks for all the help!

That thing is so easy to install it's not even funny. I've been using it for probably over a year by now. The signal is VERY clean...much cleaner than you'll ever get with a LOC.

I dont mean to jack your thread, but I was wondering if someone could clarify for me. I asked this in the Audio forum a while ago and nobody really responded, I have a 96 I30t w/ Bose, would I use the AOEM-NIS1 or the AOEM-NIS2?

thx

I think the specs for the NIS2 are like 95-99, but works up to 2003 (that I know of)

That would be the only difference between the two. Call PAC...they might even have a part number for you.

For that matter you could probably just cut the adapter plug that goes into the back of the OEM Bose head unit off and wire it up to the aftermarket HU's harness.

No, they don't have the same harness. You have to understand...on an aftermarket HU, the "harness" is the plug that plugs into the back of the aftermarket HU with a bunch of unattached wires coming out of it. From what I remember, when I last had an ROEM in my hands...it also has unattached wires coming out of it...to connect to the aftermarket HU.

In essence, it would be like wiring up an aftermarket HU in a car without an amplified soundsystem. Only in this case there's a middle man (ROEM) that you're splicing wires to, rather than the vehicle harness itself.
