Howdy All:

I am nearing install time. I was looking at crimping connections from the wiring harness(96 Maxima) to the Pioneer HU(DEH-P720) I have but now have a question:

The HU has a remote turn on/antenna wire. The wiring harness for the car has one wire for the antenna and another for the remote turn on. Can I hook the HU wire to the antenna wire and then use the seperate remote turn on wire to power my amps?? Will this work? Is the wiring harness turn on wire going to function fine not connected to the HU?

Any help would be appeciated.

Best regards,

tony

hooking the remote wire up to the power antenna makes it come out whenever the radio is on>not a bad thing, but it just comes up and stays up. it's almost easier just to get a larger 10g/8g butt connecter and crimping one onto the wiring harness and two on the other side of the butt connecter ...

even putting a little toggle/push button switch on your amps you'd have to do the same thing with the remote wire , that or run a wire from the power on the amp up to the dash, through a switch, and back to the remote on the amp
