Remote Start Installation Help
Well I bought the DIY remote start system from Wal Mart. Installation was easy, but when I try to start the car it seems tho as if the control unit does not send enough amperage to the starter, the SAME exact symptoms of a bad ignition switch.
My question is there anything I can do to bring more amps to the starter? Like where to splice the constant 12V at, or where to splice the starter wire at... etc. Everything works, it's just that it cranks fairly weak. When I start the car with the key it starts up right away.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Buying a real remote start not from Walmart should solve your problem (sorry if that sounds harsh but its probably the truth), assuming the car, although weak, still starts fine. There isnt really a reason the remote start should give less voltage then turning the key...assuming you spliced somewhere under the steering column as is the norm.

It says there is only 1 starter wire, and 2 ignition wires. What brand of remote starters do you guys reccommend? The reason I chose this one is because no one in my town will install one with a manual transmission. They it is too dangerous.
Viper...Clifford...anything by DEI...or even Code Alarm if you wanna be cheap, just not walmart.
Edit-its not dangerous if you tap into the wire on the ECU for the neutral safety switch, so that it will only remote start in neutral

Well last night I installed a Valet (561R), which is made by DEI.. It still takes longer to start (compared to starting it with a key), but not half as bad as the wal-mart brand. Any suggestions?

Ok, the chart I was looking at for the wires said was for a 95 max, so I looked at the charts for 96 - 98 (should be the same right?) Well the 96 - 98 chart had a 2nd starter wire.... Red/Blue. Can I hook this up with my starter #1 wire using a relay??
So would it look something like this:
