Know of any Bluetooth enabled HU?
Know of any Bluetooth enabled HU?
Considering replacing my OEM headunit. My dream HU would be something like the Eclipse AVN with bluetooth. The bluetooth would allow me to use my phone through the stereo in the car. Many upscale OEM cars now have this capability available - see Chrysler 300C, Acura TL, etc. Handles muting radio/CD/Aux when making calls and puts the call through the stereo.
I just haven't found anything aftermarket that has this feature.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I haven't searched for one yet, but I was looking at new cell phones and bluetooth car kits when I thought about this. Most car kits have some limitation that bugs me. I figure an all in one unit might be great. I'm sure they're probably right around the corner.
Don't know anything about it, but http://www.parrot.biz/products/index.php?id=rhythmnblue
Right but I am talking about something integrated into a navigation. Like one of the Eclipse models. That has built-in sirius, it would be nice if it had BT as well since OEM manufacturers are having this option already available.
I know that this is not exactly what you are looking for but I've heard it's great. I am seriously considering buying this for my razr. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=403000
I really like the new Parrot 3200LS. Works flawlessly.
The easiest way to install the Parrot kit in a Maxima 1995-2006 is with this adapter:
http://members.***.net/quickconnect/HBBH-1.html
I installed the new 3200LS Color Parrot with this interface device and it is nicer than the factory 2006 setup. There is not a single wire to cut or attach - plug and play for Nissan Bose (only) systems...
If anyone is not familiar with the Parrot kits - see http://www.parrot.biz
The new 3200 color model is very nice and costs about $200 in addition to above harness - see http://www.mobileplanet.com/product.asp?code=127593

What is spam about it? I've listed 3 companies' products that deal with bluetooth. The separate Parrot kit is nicer than the integrated headunit bluetooth solutions at this point - (Including Parrot's Rhythm n Blue and even Tom Toms 700) although the new AVIC will be interesting to see....

If your not here to spam, then I take it back. Although when I looked at your total three posts, they all basically said the same thing, with the same links. Hence the reason I assumed it to be spam. If its not, then my apologies. Welcome to the Org and enjoy your stay. If it is an attempt at spam, well then obviously your stay would be short lived.
Thanks. Yea, I'm really into bluetooth these days. The Parrot kit is French, so I'm ambivalent about them.
The advantages of a hardwired bluetooth kit over the bluetooth earpiece are many:
1) Radio mutes automatically as incoming call rings
2) Bluetooth kit announces who is calling or visually shows who is calling (photo caller ID with some phones)
3) No need to recharge your bluetooth headset
4) Parrot bluetooth kits remembers up to 5 phones - so when my wife or kid drive my car - they automatically have bluetooth too
5) Sound comes over the Bose system
6) Voice dialing capability even with phones that don't have voice dialing over bluetooth such as Treo
7) Everyone in the car can say hi to Grandma
8) Nothing to misplace
9) Pairing is always automatic
10) Instant access to phone book, list of received and sent calls - all without pulling the phone off your beltclip or out of your purse
As for your spam concern, the only product I had a hand in is the custom Nissan Bose interface adapter. The Parrot puts out 8 ohm speaker level audio and the Bose wants higher impedance differential low level input. It was a total mismatch and I solved this problem 2 years ago with a design that went into the HBBH-1 interface.

Well, Kudos to you that your posts are actually worthwhile, unlike some of the jerkoffs that just want to start their own thread instead of reading the stickies.

Im getting the Alpine IVA-W200 this month, its Blue Tooth ready, and you can add the Nav. Both are extra of course. Im not into the navs, most are not that great, if you really need a map, just get a thomas guide and save yourself some cash.
