Amp suggestions

I just bought a JL Audio 10" sub for my 99 max. It handles 300 watts. Im a noob when it comes to car audio and was hoping someone could guide me the right way in getting a good amp to go with it. Any help is appreciated.

use a monoblock amp, since you just have one sub. They are usually cheaper because they are only one channel. It doesn't sound like you are into ultra high-end stuff, so just try to find a Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, Phoenix Gold Octane, Kenwood or something similar. I would probably just try and find an amp in the 300-500 watt range and set the gain to the right level for the speaker.

get a mono amp for only one sub, it will pump that bad boy, if you have a 300 rms sub then a 300-400 amp would be good to have it pump, you dont want to spend too much money on an amp if your not really looking for that ultra high end sound so just get something that will satify your need. WARNING!! ONCE YOU START MESSING WITH YOUR SYSTEM YOU WONT STOP IT BECOME AN ADDICTION TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU. you'll keep adding and changing your system like you change your oil every 3 months.

What is the model number, or what is the voice coil configuration?

I've had good luck with Kicker components over the years. One of my amps is a Kicker ZX460 (4ch for my mids and highs), which I have been using for around 7 years or so. I bought it new when they first came out and I am still very happy with it. I recently went with a Kicker ZR240 (2Ch amp) from the same line for my sub, this one I bought on Ebay for $90 dollars, since they're older you can get good deals on them (being older does not stop them from being good amps). It puts out a little over 360 watts RMS at 4ohms bridged, and a little more at 2ohms bridged.
