ATTN Alarm Installers... guidance plz!

Hey all,

I finally have some time next week to work on the max, and I want to get my new alarm installed. Right now, I have a Commando RS-Combo (Remote Start) alarm installed. Yes, I know it's cheap azz, but I didn't know anything back when I got this installed. Plus, the guy steered me towards it.

I bought a CrimeStopper CS-2016FM 2way Remote Start system back when they first came out.

I want to try and attempt this myself as I feel comfortable messing around with electrical stuff on the max, not to mention all the electrical mods I've done to it. Also, I figure that it shouldn't be that hard as everything should be wired up because of the existing alarm.

So...my question, what exactly should I be looking for that could possibly be different between the two alarms? I have both sets of instructions here in front of me. Also, where is the best placement for the brain? Right now, it's in the space right under the steering column. I was thinking of putting the new alarm behind my HU.

Thanks alot for any advice!
