I had been looking into getting an in-dash changer, but I hear there have been some reliabilty issues with packing so much into a small space and that the disc-to-disc change time is pretty dismal. Anyone have a real-life testimonial to offer?

I am interested in that one myself. I checked out www.carreview.com and they have some reviews for in dash changers (e.g. Eclipse 5962). You might want to start there.

2 mfg.'s have 6disc in dash changers
Eclipse and Pioneer. Eclipse would have the best
reliability out there. (I work for an Eclipse dlr)
plus it has a 3yr warranty on it...

Just make sure that you do not use cheap cd-r's in the unit. I have seen countless numbers of Eclipse in dash changers that "forget" there is a disk in one of the slots after the car has been turned off. Even if you know there is a disc in slot 4 the changer mechanism thinks there is nothing there and uses it as the next open slot, jamming the changer. That's my recommendation.

Nakamichi also makes a 6 disc in-dash. I just purchased a Nak CD-45Z with the MB-70 changer combo and will be installing it in a few weeks. I will let you know my experience. BTW, i got a great deal: $475 for both shipped but they were slightly used.
