I just purchased a 1995 Maxima SE.
The alarm has gone off 3 times in the parking lot at work. No one is near the car (I was watching once when it starting beeping the horn). Even when I manually locked and closed the door it happened about an hour later. I just left it unlocked for now.
The car was detailed 3 days ago before I bought it. Could steam cleaning the engine cause moisture somewhere it shouldn't be? What is the alarm sensing (where are the sensors?)
Has anyone experienced this?

I tend to get a bit irritable
Disconnect the hood pin from under the hood. Should be right around the driver side headlight. Most likely this will cure your problem. They tend to break, loosen up and/or lose their connection. Primary reason why I dont typically connect this with aftermarket systems...

The alarm is the original nissan alarm. The alarm even goes off inside my garage where there is no wind etc.
Does anyone know how to disable it? I can't even lock the doors because I don't want the nusiance.
