Equalizers

How many of you are using a seperate EQ for your system? Thinking of getting one so I can further tweak my sound, and not just rely on the somewhat lacking EQ in my kenwood HU. Any recommendations?

I use two the kicker kq 30 and the kq 5........ in other words one is a 30 band wich its in the trunk and the 5 band that I keep in the glove box. why two? the 5 has a built in bass **** and its easier to control just 5 buttons rather than going in the trunk and messing with all 30..

this will take car of all the high problems you have and will give your music a new sound with clarity. deaper and cleaner bass.. well worth it...

good luck.........

theres your problem...run them with ANY decent named brand amp and you will love the results. i went from a +3 boost on my highs running off the h/u to +1 amped and its all i need.

think i might invest in another amp instead, seems more practical at this point.

i got this old 2 ch. RF amp, (puts out 50 x 2 @ 4 ohms) that i might use. it's just sitting in my cousin's closet collecting dust. what if i use it to power my bostons up front, and let my HU power the rears? or should i 'do it right' and get a 4 ch amp?

so 200 watts... run everything at 2 ohm stereo and you'll be fine. this way the front and rears can be run off of it.

bro if you have a free amp to use that would give me enough incentive to DIY...or go to CC.

i'll eventually put it in

and screw CC...bastards did a horrid install on my cousin's car. i gave him my old tens and they somehow installed it with freaking gash in one of the surrounds! of course they didn't admit it. wires were crimped all sloppy etc etc etc...but i'll save the ranting for another thread...

ugh oh... if kevin reads this lookout. however, ive seen nothing but good work from them. ive personally seen each installer at the CC here do installs and they all do it well... they solder everything too.

nope, they didn't solder everything. my cuz came back a few days later asking why the bass was so soft, so i checked it out. only one of the 2 tens was working. took the sub out, and the connection to the spade connectors were crimped bad. i cut them off, and recrimped it myself, and it worked again. not saying all CC installers are bad, but it's just that one bad seed that ruined my outlook for them.
