Well, you could mount it to the speaker box, place a board under the carpet and mount it to there etc. Just get creative.
P.S. this should be in the stereo section.

Rightside up with metal straps attached to rear speaker deck. Do not mount upside for ease sake as the heat fins won't do their job of cooling down the amp. I have a 600w Conceptamp big but slim so the trunk link bars don't hit it.(I'm talking about the link bars not the hinges), this way I can unplug my sub at the speaker connection pull out my sub and use whole trunk with ease!

I mounted mine under my subbox. Subbox is suspended using the RSTB ... but could easily be suspended by using wooden legs also. To get to the amp I have to remove the subbox ... but I never have to get to it.

NEVER mount the amp directly to metal. Mount it to wood and secure the wood to metal.

Big Ham -can you post pics of your install? Would like to do the same. Right now I have a full plywood trunk setup and would like to have the amp mounted like you said and a mini sub box in the tire well. Saves a ton of weight!!!! Would appreciate it.

I have mine in the hole in the rear seats... i cut a piece of wood painted it black (you cant see it anyway) and bolted it to the back of the seat frame

i had to remove the black plastic piece but the amp fits perfectly i can raise and lower the armrest to allow peope to sit in the middle

just an idea

Why do you say this? I have my amp screwed into metal but there is plastic insulation and peel and seal between the amp and the metal that it is screwed in to. Is this OK and if not why?

Grounding. You're grounding it to the rear deck at multiple places ... you can get ground loops. You also have a ground wire likely running to a different location as well. There may be other dangers as well, but I don't recall it being unsafe.

If you don't know the answer to that already, please take it to a trained professional. He'll be a second set of eyes on your wiring as well ... this is important for safety.
