Disconnecting Alarm

I know this is nothing Maxima related, but i figured it's the best place to post this. My buddy got a car from his dad after he passed away. after throwing a new battery in and driving around for a bit, the car just shut off and the alarm went crazy. he now wants to disconnect his Clifford alarm on his '94 Lumina so he just doesn't have to deal with it anymore. The last time i disconnected an alarm on another car, the tach didn't work when i was done with it. I was thinking that i could just unplug everything from the main box or find the power wire and disconnect it, but then i thought that it might have a failsafe that if it is disconnected or loses power it doesn't allow the car to start. Does anyone have any ideas as to what i can do? if this shouldn't be public knowledge, please PM me with any details. Thanks.

You can take the fuses out of the wire that goes from the alarm brain to the ignition harness, but yes there is a starter kill, so your starter wire is cut, and a green wire coming from the alarm brain is connected to the key side of the starter wire, and the purple wire from the alarm brain is connected to the car side of the starter wire. Just connect the starter wire back up, so it doesnt run through the alarm brain, and take those fuses out and youll be good.

what starter wire are you talking about? the wire that comes off of the ignition, or something else?
