Car Audio Reviews

Hey guys this is my first time posting. I am looking to purchase a sound system for my max ASAP. But i am finding it hard to get any info on subs online. Apart from the manufacturer websites there isnt a 3rd party site online that does reviews for car audio. I am looking for a website alot like cnet in its reviews. if any of you can help me out by directing me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Right now im interested in purchasing some kicker solox subs the 18's with 5000 rms. so if any of you guys have that installed or know about it and can give me some info on it I would appreciate it

Thanks

I was thinking I might go with the 18's but after sitting on the Kicker website for awhile im thinking 12" SoloX's will be fine. The only reason im looking at kicker so hard is because I have a guy here in Houston who can sell me the products at distributor prices.

He is offering me the 12w7 at $450
The 12" SoloX's for $300 and
The 18" SoloX's for $600

but at 450 a pop for the 12w7 even though its a great deal I just cant afford to purchase as many as I want. Ultimately id like to go with the W7's but I was thinkin maybe those Kickers would be the better deal. My idea for a sound system right now is
3 W7's 450 x 3
3 JL 1000 watt amps 650 x 3
1 pioneer premiere 600 watt amp 150 x 1
4 pioneer premiere speakers 25 x 4
1 pioneer premiere head the 960 375 x 1

so the totals about 4 grand i know its a good deal. But i dont know if going with more powerful kickers would save me money. Thats why ive been looking for reviews to see if its worth it for those kickers. If anybody has any recommendations or opinions i wouldnt mind hearing those either.

Yea I have been thinking about power for those 18's thats why ive decided to not go with those. but as far as a power source for my stereo the deck and amp and 4 speakers will be powered by my car battery. but for the subs and the amps that go with them im thinking about having it on its own battery and ive heard that you can get a solar charger mounted on your trunk that will recharge the battery

Just go there and teach Them how to build a speaker. Being that they never built/designed one in their time.

Besides most of their products are built and distributed out of house, youd just be going to the corporate office.

yeah every single person i know who i talk to car audio about (except kevin) claim jl is god, everything they do is amazing, etc. when my friend put his w3v2 12's and 500/1 into his 5th gen and compared them to my shivas, he admitted mine were better but that jls would be better in a bigger box (even though we compared similar power, same car type, same exact box size and type). thats why i try to get anything off brand (and cheap) to be different and tell people, haha you paid too much for your system.
