I can barely hear my bass...

I just installed my 2 12" Sony Xplods, 1000w Kenwood amp, and I can barely hear my bass...with all the settings on my amp set to max. I have it spliced into the rear speaker deck and then I used a line ouput converter to convert the signal to RCA...could it be that the gain is set really low on the converter? It's weird that my friends, who have 1 12" in their trunk and have an amp that has half as much power as I do hit so much harder..

Please help.

Thanks.

Some of the line converters do offer a gain adjustment. Check that out first. If not, try checking the connections. Also, double check the wiring from the amp to the sub. If the wiring is reversed, it'll cause the signal to be really low, if not work at all.

DO you have a high-pass and low-pass filter?

turn your SUB on from your HU...its probally set to OFF. what kinda HU you got. you sure you put the wires into the right RCA connectors in the back of the HU.

+1 make sure one sub isnt out of phase, meaning one of the subs would have its (+) and (-) wires reversed.

Do you have Bose? Did you tap into the wires for the high-low before or after the Bose amps?
