subwoofer delay?

I've realized that my subs have a delay in them, especially listening to techno, or anything with a fast paced constant beat...it's about a half second off...i have it connected to the bose rears (spliced with a LOC)...how do I get rid of this delay?

Thanks.

Well it could be the fact you're using the LOC. Another could be too small of a wire for power, ground, and speaker. Another could be the amp itself.

Try reversing the phase on the subs. Meaning that instead of the + and - wires from the amp going to the + and - of the woofers, have the +'s of the amp going to the -'s of the subs, and the -'s going to the +'s. I think this may do the trick.

How do you have the sub installed in your car? Which way is the sub facing?

i tried it facing the seats, but didn't like the way it looked, and i turned it around (facing taillights) and the sound is the same.

Have you tried reversing the phase on the subs?

You can try messing with the phase, but I think you're gonna find that the delay is a characteristic of trunk-mounted subs. I had that problem in my first Maxima. In my new Maxima, I mounted the subs in the rear deck, playing directly into the cabin. In addition to all the other benefits of this set-up, the attack is dead-even with the mids up front. It sounds as if the subs are mounted up front. I'll never have a sub in my trunk again.

If you have a CD player that has the time delay feature, & a trunk mounted sub, you can tune the system not have this delay .

the subwoofers should not be off at all, i too listen to techno club rave, all extremly fast beat songs, my subs hit every beat. i also have 2 12" type r's each in a sealed chamber approx .89 cubic feet each, fit up to my backseat, meaning the box has an angle in it, and they are facing towards the trunk lid. It depends on the subs you have, and i mean it depends alot on that, type of enclosure is very important also. another thing is, u shouldnt use high level inputs to connect to your amp, it has extremely poor sound quality that way, you should use a converter, highlevel to rca, tsunami makes a very good one. the difference is night and day clarity. i am very much a sound qaulity freak, so i am always looking for a way to improve. important key is the equipment you have, poor equipment = poor sound. i hope this helped, the freq line should be set as low as it can go on your amp, mines around 40 hz i believe, but that would help pick up on more beats, shouldnt be the cause of your delay, and like it was previously stated, ground should be strong, and proper size wires should be used. i hope it helped, any more question IM me on aim, im more than wiling to help

the tsunami line ouput converter is the one i bought...i guess it's because the signal is being fed through so many places..oh well, its not so bad if you think about it..
