slickrick fit in his ava15 box just fine.

edit: nevermind...forgot he has a 5th gen. what about moving the box a little more forward? will it still hit the torsion bars?

why do you want a 15 inch? I can find you a 12 that will give better SPL and SQ than 90% of 15" on the market.

I hate hearing a car booming and it sounds like ****

the atlas will definately give you good spl and sq. it's not really the 'average' 15 on the market.

Build the box in an L. Lower the top of the box to clear any obstructions. Leave the front of the box tall enough to mount the 15. I have seen it done in a 4th gen before. rolondo is a member on the org. He has 2 RF 15's in his trunk. It's clear and very loud. Also is a 4th gen. Good luck. When your done post pics in the Show me whats in your trunk sticky.

LOL. 15's are sloppy in a sloppy box with sloppy power. In a nice box with plenty of power. They can sound just as good as a smaller sub.

yep. but 10's can be be sloppy also with a messed up box size. in short, todays higher end subs are designed to work well regardless of cone size so sloppiness usually comes from the integrity of the install... i hope my install isnt sloppy.

Yeah those torsion bars really suck. I think if u would have built a box 16" h u would have found that the trunk slopes down towards the rear of the car. The floor right behind the rear seat is about an 1 1/2" higher than the rest of the trunk. I put a false floor n my trunk and can barely fit a 14 3/4" h enclosure under the bars. I have seen a 4th Gen on the .org with a 15" (may have actually been a Atlas. He had the slid more to the rear of the car, but had no trunk room. And i definatly have to agree with slickrick "sloppiness usually comes from the integrity of the install."

This was on a 4th Gen white max. There's a thread on the A/V forum with a pic. Pushing it with a Hi Fonics 1800W if i'm not mistaken. I'll try and figure out who it is.

How deep is the sub? Down firing it will probably be your best bet.

why not a 15 in a 4th gen?

i personally have a sony explod 15" 1000w sub and a 500 watt amp.... i dont have any cargo space, but i do have BASS (actually theres enough space to put 3 bags full of grocerys beside the speaker still in the trunk)

There's too much rattle in the trunk for a 15". Just get a 12"
