Reconmended amp kit...8 or 10 gauge

Whats going on guys?

I have the Infinity Basslink which puts out 200 watts RMS and Im trying to figure out if I need 10 or 8 gauge wiring. I want to make sure that the sub is getting sufficient power with the kit. So I guess my questions are:

-Do I need an 8 or 10 gauge amp kit?

-Are they any brands that yall would reconmend? Also, are there any that I should stay away from?

I've been looking on Ebay at no name kits and don't really want to spend more than 20 bucks on one. I know Walmart has kits for around that price as well. Thanks for the help fellas, I appreciate it.

Ben

buy the 4 gauge kit from walmart thats around $20. not the best but 4 gauge is better than 8 gauge.

If you only plan on powering the 200w basslink then get the 8. If you ever decide that you want more... Go for a 4 gague. Brands don't really matter but sometimes you get what you pay for...

Think of possibly doing a future upgrade. You don't want to run new power wire again, do you? Go with something larger that 8 or 10ga. Stay away from the off-brand garbage that's out there. Sometimes you'll buy a 4ga kit and the spec of wire inside the jacket is 8 or 6ga. I'm you paid good money for the Basslink, don't skimp on the connections. The system is only as good as it's weakest link.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm either going to do 8 or 4 gauge, but proabably 8 gauge just because I don't think I'll upgrade.

Another question I have is, do different metals for the connectors matter in quality, like gold vs. copper? Sorry about all of the questions, but I'm a newb when it comes to amp related sheeyot.

What's the difference between these kits?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...765804048&rd=1 (gold plated)

Thanks

Ben

I've never heard of either brand but IMO go with the second one. The first one seems too shady...

Don't get that high. Go lower. I've got 0ga and it's great. 4ga is good too.

Do yourself a favor and buy a reputable kit. If I was going to do an install in my father-in-law's car I might consider this. "Manufactured to AWG standards", not for $15. Go for something with smaller wire strands and more of them. You are going to get what you pay for.
