Quick Q after Bose HU replacement about antenna reception.

Finally got a chance to dump the Bose HU and got a quick questions if someone can help. In case, it's HU replacement with PAC using the bose amp/speakers

1 : Is there a way to boost the radio reception? I have the standard 2 pin adapter to factory diversity antenna converter. My signal is so weak that it's not worth listening to the FM channels. As for AM, I have better luck listen for martians from Mars...

thanks!
Henry

Does that connector go in only one way? If it doesn't you might try flipping it around. I have one also and although the FM reception isn't what it was, it is okay. The AM reception is fine though.

Have you connected the power to the diversity antenna converter? It gets power from the power antenna wire.

It's in all the way as it locks in to place, I have poor FM and AM is bascially shot.

Power for the converter? I don't understand what you mean. I basically have a Pionner unit connected to a PAC to the Bose amp/speaker system. As for the antenna. it's only an adapter that goes on the factory antenna plug and on to the back of the Pionner antenna plug. No other wires to it.

Doh, actually I meant antenna amp. There is an antenna amplifier in the rear quarter panel. From the wiring harness, there should be a wire labeled as power antenna from the nissan radio plugs. Connect the power antenna wire from your pioneer hu to that wire on the harness. I am not to familiar with the PAC adapter as I had replaced everything in my bose system, but I am sure someone else would know more about the pac adapter.

So what your saying is, The power antenna wire from the Pioneer unit should be connected to the "power antenna wire" from the cars factory harness? I'll look for that wire as I am sure I did not have to connect any type of power antenna wire anywhere.

thanks

Long shot question, Know what color is that wire? I assume it's one of the wires that is attached to the factory harness that has the steering controls on it which is no longer connected when a aftermarket HU is in place.
