problem with rear speakers
every site ive checked says that my rear speaking on my 89 maxima are 6x9s, i ripped the back seat off only to discover that they were circles, not oval shaped liket he 6x9 anyone have, or know of the speakers for the 89 maxima...thanks
on the 3rd gen, only cars equipped with the bose system had the 6x9s in the rear deck. otherwise, they're 6.75"s
and a note, your front door speaker size are 4x6. IF you did have the bose, it would have been 4" rounds.

if you want 6x9's in the rear, you'll have to get those bose brackets from somebody/junkyard. they mount from underneath the rear deck. i looked at a bose equipped maxima and didn't like how it looked, so i just cut my rear deck so they'd mount from the top. if you want 6x9's in the back, you have 3 options:
1) buy the bose brackets
2) cut out the rear deck to fit your speakers
3) fabricate a new rear deck out of wood and carpet and put that on top of your existing rear deck. cut holes in that and mount from the top.
i'm pretty sure most of the people on this forum will tell you to get 6.5's back there...but i like my 6x9's
