There are good line drivers that can step the voltage up, if you're worried about noise. As long as you get a quality product, it'll sound good. It might be a little over-bearing if you're leaving the bose system for your highs, though.
If you're afraid line drivers aren't good enough, look into some of audiocontrol's stuff, most of them incorporate a line converter and add some functionality [eq, etc. . .].

An eletronics store in my area is going out of business so I was able to pick up a $79 dollar line converter for about 20 and then got monster rca's for cheap. Got it in stalled and it sounds good. Not good enough to win SQ awards but get enough for what I need. Now I just need to work on getting the windows tinted and picking up some new wheels.

Keanders...... I am kinda looking at doing the same thing. I have an MTX box w/3 10in woofers in it. Researching an amp and I gotta get a line converter too.
How does the sub blend with the rest of your system?
(Does it drown out the mid/highs?)
Did you disconnect the stock subs?
Does it rattle your trunk......hate when that happens.
Thanks
