amp help

hey guys, i am new th this amp stuff. right now i have 2 rockford fosgate subs running off of an ANCIENT rockford fosgate amp (75 watts) it was made in like 1960. for real! well i am very low on money and need some ampage to my speakers. i need to keep my aiwa CD reciever (in-dash) is there any way that i can hook up my speakers right to an amp then my CD player without the pre-amp out??? my subs are hooked up to that. so the real queation is can i hook my speakers from the head unit to an amp then to the speakers? HELP!

VAN your post is very confusing. Are you trying to use your speaker outputs off of your head unit to an amp and them power your speakers from the amp?

Yep, the description was a little vague, huh. What model RF subs(P112S4, P312D4, RFD2212, RFP3412, etc)? What model RF amp(Punch 75, Punch 75HD, Punch 75.2, etc)? Using high level output from Aiwa deck to power mids and highs, then RCA to sub amp? You can run the whole system using lots of good clean power on one amp with caps and coils (passive network) but gets very confusing.

you can do this i believe i did it once before to an amp and speakers my friend had i will try to get a description and wire diagram together and send it to you you might have to buy some extra wires and splice into head unit wires it gets confusing but it really isnt that hard whhen you get going. and anything is possible if you have enough money get back to me with an ammount your looking to spend so I can have a better idea of what your working with

can't you just run a spliter fron the HU? then hook one set of rca to your sub amp, and another set to your 4 ch amp.

that is one possibility another would be to run your speaker wires to rca's run thos e to one amp either the old or new then run a high pass connector from that amp to another and run that to your subs this would depend on how old your amp is really old amps dont have a high pass input or output and you would need to run a lot more wires this would really bring up the cost. .... if you need 2 rca ends i have some that could be wired in to your existing wires send me a price and they are yours

VAN what you need to buy is a Hi/Low converter. Any reputable audio shop and Walmart sells them. You will see one side has speaker inputs (HI) and the other end has Pre-AMP (LOW) outputs. There will be an adjustment on how much signal you want to pass through to the Pre-AMP.

Before you do that though. Does you existing HU have pre-outs? If so how many?

You are correct what I actually meant to ask him was if there are an extra set of outs? If not you can split the signal from the outs going to the sub amp get a cheap line driver and drive both amps from the line driver.

I dunno if your trying to amp the interior speakers nad you wanna know how to do it with only one preout but if that is what your saying you can buy y adaptors connect it the the RCA preouts and have two sets of RCA connections.
