cannot figure out where to run power wire HELP
i'm trying to run my power wire and cannot find a place to get it through the firewall. I will not drill a hole in the firewall so please do not suggest that. Car is a 2000 SE 5spd thanks in advance!
In my automatic 2000 SE, if you remove the front driverside wheel and pull away the covers in the wheel well, you will see a reletively large grommet, pull the grommet out and run the wire through the hole to the battery, then close the grommet, and put wheel back on along with the covers. I did this for my car, but I'm not sure if the clutch pedel might interefere with this method in a MT vehicle, try it, it was very easy for me to run the wire using this method.
i think you can find a rubber fitting under the driverside windshield wipers, if you widen it and send it through there it comes out near the pedals i believe, thats they way it is on my 02 max and i think the 00 maxes have the same opening, but you would want to wait for another persons opinion besides mine

@wanta02max...
Say brotha, I just did this yesterday - it's the best way to do it, even though it may take a bit of doing when you're doing it by yourself. I had done it the exact same way before in my 3rd Gen. All I did was to slice a hole in the rubber grommet with a razor blade, being careful not to cut anything other than the grommet, then feed the power wire through and pull it through the cabin area, running it down the driver's side trim, under the rear seat, and into the trunk. You should have no problem after that.

Like everyone else said, you need to take off the front driver side wheel and plastics off to see the grommet from the outside. On the inside, you need to remove some sound deadening material. The grommet is on the top and to the left (not easily accessable).
What about running speaker wire through the doors? Is there another way outside of drilling???
Also, does anybody happen to have instructions on removing the center console? I considering using the double-din area for the Pioneer head unit & the Directed Video DVD player, and I'm planning on mounting my Pioneer 6500EQ in the center console since it's only 1/2-DIN in size and fits perfectly in there (I can close the cover with no problem at all...) and takes up nearly NO space in the compartment...
My biggest decision is whether or not to run the RCA cables from the center console to the trunk (under the carpet), or if I should run it around the passenger side of the vehicle, under the door trim and into the trunk. The RCA cables I have (Stinger for inside & Monster Cable for sub) are 20' long, so I'm sure there's more than enough cable to reach back there if I decide to run it passenger-side, but I'm wondering about noise if I run the speaker wires the same way... In my 3rd Gen, I ran the power down the driver's side, the RCAs down the center, and the front speaker wires down the passenger side and never had any kind of engine whine whatsoever, but going under the carpet from the center console wasn't pleasant. If I can run speaker & signal wire down the same side of the car without any engine noise, I'll go ahead & start running wires...

I have a 1999 Nissan Maxima, and I'm trying to figure out where I should run my wires through. There seems to be a diamond space under the dash filled with insulation, but I can't figure out where it leads to. Then, in the under-hood area, there's a circle/diamond chaped opening, but I can't figure out where that leads to. Are they connected?
