Theyve been around for awhile and arent authorized for half the stuff they carry. Noone with the except of crutchfield is authorized for Alpine.

IkeSound.com....related to a major chain on Canal Street in NY...stay away from these guys. Like mentioned before, half the stuff they sell they are not authorized for. I'm sure you may have heard this theory "you get what you pay for"? All is good with a credit card in your hand. The story quickly changes if something goes wrong with the product though.

Well, some dont trust online retailers, do this tho..compare the retail shop price of the item vr the online price.....its usually right about double(sometimes give or take)... so with the money u saved, if something is wrong, u can buy another one..and sell the carcass usually for a good 20-50 bucks depending on what it is(if its an amp).this much i know about online/ebay retailers....my 6.5 type Rs, orion 6.5 components(in use over a year), kicker KX650.4(in use over a year) and 12 W6v2 are all online/ebay items.but my 2 store bought items JL 500.1 and kenwood kdcx859 have both been in and out of repairs...perhaps ive jsut gotten lucky...who knows... do your research on the place, and buy from ebay and or with paypal, disputes and or negative feedbacks hender even the biggest power sellers.

bottom line weigh your options, how much money u have......what u can go with online VR what u can afford in a shop . I still think its a risk, but to me its worth it. i had no problems with ikes sound... they are based out of fort lauderdale. and are not asians, like it matters......how do i know? cause my JBL amp, i went and picked it up....

I was not aware that they were shut down for theft but when I ordered things from them I got them pretty quick (they are only a few hours away). The used to sell alot on ebay with the user name "lscala1". They used to carry alot more items and better than they do now but their pioneer stuff is straight. A few years back I picked up a Mb Quart RSC216 component set on their site for $140. I would porbably just go ebay or sounddomain if these guys got shut down for theft.

If i wanna gamble, there are other avenues to do so. For my car audio, I like legit, i like warranty and I like a 'face' I can go to if i have issues. I like to know that the product I'm buying has only seen transit once- company direct to the dealer.

If you must buy online, i strongly suggest into companies that do direct sales. There are many great companies and products out there that dont have a dealer network. This is 100% safer than buying unauthorized products. For the good , high end stuff where the investment is large- protect that investment and buy it authorized.
