i just love how the brahma sounds. its also fun when people ask what kind of sub you have...and then just say oh because they never heard of it. my only complaint is the sub + box weighs 100lbs. the box is very solid though. built by mr marv from eca forums. 1" MDF all around and 1 1/2" front.

back on topic my friend hit 129.9 in a 129.9 class at a db drag. he has a trophy for best in show and it was his first comp!

he has elemental designs o series(flat cone)
and a 400watt kicker amp

change your username to splintermax then!

what kinda box are you building?

i'm still stuck between a 15" AVA or just biting the bullet and getting two 12" RL-Ps...

I said a peak of 147 and i said i average out at about 138-140.....it hits that every so often not every single hit........

ok...fine it PEAKS at it when you're playing music...but you do realize that playing test tones or sine sweeps yield in even higher readings??? that's why i downplayed your statement. and believe me, i'm well aware of kicker's underrating... if you were in a standard cab pickup truck i wouldn't be SO quick to call you out, but even at that...it's two twelves sealed with 750 watts at most...

My 2 12"s in a sealed boxes hit 147.6... but on a older mic. Why is it so hard to believe?

you have them in a truck....older mic's (depending on what) can be off by as much as 6~8 db...the reason why it's hard to believe is because, well, if you've heard anything that'll break 140db on a new TL.....believe me 147 will make you deaf. and as for that 158.6, that again is just complete absurdity. what the hell are you running because that's like first place in db wars and stuff....

What kind of vehicle was it in? What meter was used? I couldn't find it on the site. I would also like to know what constitutes "modified"?

Thsi is concerning the Memphis stats.

dude, 158.6db in the TRUNK! that's freakin cheating dude. i mean, no doubt your stuff can push some air, i do believe i remember asking you how the hell you fit that box in your trunk a long time ago. i'm pretty sure a lot of people can break 150s in the port too lol

Because I think there is only about 36" between the shock towers, and I don't think you can get but about 36" or so deep. With those measurments, and assuming you are useing .75" material, and assuming it is ported and well braced, that would have your box being close to 2 feet high, which would not go in the trunk. You may be figuring cubic footage based on the outside measurments, and not taking out the displacment of the port and bracing.

it is 12 cubic ft. its bout 10.5 - 10.75 after woofer displacement and port area. trust me its 12 cubic ft. total and its in the trunk

Well that is a little more feasible. Figuring in 15% displacement for woofer, port, bracing, and material thickness, your box would have been nearly 14 cubic feet. You can see my skepticism. So you really have about a 10.5 cubic foot box. When you give box volume, everyone is always going to assume you are talking about less displacement, since that is how you tune a box.

x2 freakin 2. I got 7.5 cubes in my trunk and it takes over the entire trunk and I had to build the box inside the trunk. I have no idea have you got 12 ft cubed in there. Pics or I call BS.

my box is only 3.5 ft^3 net and i really doubt i could fit any bigger than 4 ft^3 net w/o having to build the box in the trunk, simply because the trunk opening isn't as big on 5th gens as they are for 4th gens

sorry wound up getting busy yesterday so i still havent had time to measure yet. but it has got to be at least 40 to 44 inches between shock towers, cause there is no way that my box wouldve fit if not. it is built inside the trunk as well and its gross is 12 cubic ft. me and my cousin build things that a car audio shop will say is impossible, so we can make anything go in any car and still meet all of the airspace requirements of the woofer. i will get those measurements after a while and hopefully get some pics up soon.
