it should be fine. a sub doesn't always need to be amped excessively to sound good. plus, power handling is inversely proportional to box size.

Which amp? What is the amp stable to? RMS is your only concern. If the amp and subs impedance can be matched, 300 will be enough. $50 is a pretty good price for that sub.

the thing is i dont know much about the amp, it has 2 channels i believe...2 + terminals and 2 -
hmm...
i had 2 older 12's that are 4ohm[watt's?], running off of this tiny amp and it sounded awsome and loud, but i think it was all in the box. it was bandpass and it was huge and heavy. that's the only reason i took it out and put this sub into a smaller box that's obo 1.5ft/2...i think thats right. too much sag

so, i just put + to + and - to -, bridged the amp i believe, and it didnt make much noise :\
i think everything should match up if the old 4ohm subs worked a couple of hours ago, and now this 4ohm sub isnt making any noise :\
im going to go use fresh wire and make sure nothing is crossed
any more suggestions?
thanks alot for the replies -matt

To stay on topic...did you put the sub's (+) wire to the (+) of one channel, and the sub's (-) to the (-) of the other channel? This would bridge the amp, and get as much power out of it as possible, assuming the amp can handle a load of 4 ohms bridged, which we wont be able to tell without a model number or specs.

yeah thats what i did
same as my last pair of subs, how they wer wired.
im sure i bridged it now that you explain it more.
i guess ill have to take it back and exchange it :\
that sucks!
i have a feeling that this should be working, so i guess the sub is faulty. it should atleast give a tick or somehting but it doesnt vibrate at all. boo
any more ideas would be great thanks again guys
also 50bones isnt a rip off for any semi-"good" sub in my eyes
dont they charge alooot more for only a step up?

I actually own two visonik 10's. They are good for their money IMO. Better than The cheaper brands (Pyramid, Pyle, Lanzar) I have owned mine for about 7 months and I abuse them. I powered them with a Pyle PLA800 and had them wired to 2 OHM's. They are 4 ohm subs and very versatile. I am buying two of these in about a month Click here]

i looked but couldnt find any real specs, its a pretty low end amp i guess.
works great and i had no problems with 2 12's.
thanks alot for the help guys.
do amps have an Ohm rating too? that needs to be matched with a sub?

okay i found the problem!
but i dont know how to fix it..
i was about to take the sub back when i checked the power light on the amp just to see. and it was off. i checked my connections and they were fine [worked previously]. then checked the fuse on the amp [15] and it was burned so i tried putting a 20 in there and it burned that, tried a 10 and burned that. all of these shorts, were instant...even before i could get the fuse in WITHOUT the ignition on. that makes me wonder..
i went and bought some 15 rated fuses [like the origional] and they kept burning out too as they touched inside the fuse holder. i tried disconnecting the power wire, putting the fuse in and then reconnecting it. that still blew them. also tried the same thing with the ground.
i took the dash unit out and checked my remote wire where it's spliced into the HU antenna, but it looked fine.
so now i have no more ideas as to what i can try...i just cant get a fuse in the amp without it blowing right away.
how is the amp getting power constantly? shouldnt the power be cut when the ignition is off via the remote wire?
i cant deduct any more than this so can someone help me pleeees!
thanks AGAIN

disconnect the power and groud wires first then insert a 15 watt fuse into the amp. the amp receives constant power but it doesn't use it due to the fact that it is off. the car is always constantly grounded and if you have a 12volt + connection to the amp there will always be useable power.

okay i just went across the city to get more fuses. i went through like 7 today already, plus 2 i just bought.
at the amp, i unhooked the ground and power wires. put the fuse in. hooked the gorund up, then as i touched the power to the post the fuse blew and some sparks. same exact thing happens in the opposite order. power connected and then when i go to put up the ground somewhere it touches and sparks fly. i dont have a clue whats going on with this thing.
ive checked everything i can think of. ive seen other peole with this problem post before but no answers.
grr! i want my sub to wooooork

Disconnect the power wire from the battery. Replace the fuse then reconnect the power wire. IF this doesn't work then your amp may be shorted out somewhere.

i think you have a short in your power cable somewhere. check and see if it is pinched or cut anywhere

well it was blowing the amp's fuse
i gave up and bought a new amp. its not that great but itll do
a 2x300w bridgable pyramid amp with a few good controls.
it works fine now, no problems at all. i must have just friend that other amp and for some reason it decided to not take any more fuses. i read alot on other people having the same problems. nobody had a soloution. the amp was simply wasted.

now i have to buy another visonik so i can run two in the box...made for two subs

i have an older crunch sub with unknown wattage @4ohms...can i wire this sub in along with the visonik? theyre both 12" and 4ohm. but the wattages would definately be off.

i would advise against mixing different subs. they subs won't play the same as one another and it might end up sounding bad. more is not better in this case.
