I guess nobody liked this thread.

Viper 791XV, Python 881XP, Or Clifford Matrix 3.5. All the same product with different remotes. All made by Directed Electronics, which is the leader in automotive security, and the only alarm brand worth the money.

The end, this thread can be closed now

EDIT: good luck getting any shop to install a remote start on a manual, because i can almost guarantee it wont happen.

I got an eBay one made by Magic Car, it works great, I've double tested all the features myself and they all work, can't beat a 2way remote start with a pager.

yeah thoes are the type ive been looking at. theyve got everything as an potion, lots of settings. 1/4 mile reception. stuff like that makes them look so good
and the price is right but "cheap" might also mean CHEAP.

how is the wirring for the magic car? you hook it all up as they say when you order the car-specifeic instructions, and they're pretty easy?
with basic knowledge or wirring

I wouldnt waste my time with a Ebay alarm,Get the DEI as suggested or The Audiovox996 series. Both are pretty much the same.

Viper,Python,Clifford...dealer installed only or loss any and all warranty, as well as theft deductible.

Otherwise..you get what you pay for.

I think he would loose the warranty anyway since DEI doesn't support remote starters on manual transmissions

I got an omega max-e off ebay for 140 shipped installed it myself a year ago, 1/4 mile range, 2way pager, supports both manual and autos.

no complaints, no problems, no regrets

Everything hooked up easy except for 1 wire on the the remote start part, it has a wire for manuals that says to hook up to the e brake light positive output , I wasn't having that so I left it hooked up to ground as an automatic. It has the manual remote start where you hit the button then turn off the car, the car stays running, when you exit and close the door it shuts the car off, it is a safeguard to make sure that the vehicle is in neutral with e brake on. Like I said I tested all the features and they all work well, it also has system memory for battery disconnects and I love the remote capability and distance, it tells all the status' of the car. Magic Car is advertised in Performance and Sound magazine and was compared as a less expensive alternative to the Compustar for all the naysayers.

so you just grounded wires you didnt want?...The brake wire is so that after you remote start your car, if someone gets in trying to steal it, and hits the brake before the key is in and turned, the remote start shuts off.
