Illusion has been a highly respected brand for some time. Apparently, they shut down and are now opening back up and I'm sure Don knows details of this cause I think he is carrying them.
The ND-12's and ND15's have been respected for some time as being some of the best SQ subs made. They're not going to have the output of an IDMAX, Avalanche or W7 off 1kwatts or anything, ut if the rest of your system is up to snuff, these could be a great blend. Of course if you wanna boom, multiple woofers/power can get you there.
The ND8's have been very popular door midbass drivers for some time too because of their depth.
Also worth metioning would be the Phase Linear Aliante.....http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/prod...oducts_id=1217 also respected as a high end SQ woofer.
FYI I haven't heard either of these in subwoofer application. I'm basing this on long term reputation, reviews from good ears. I'd like to try them both though.

A friend of mine that competes in sq said the pioneers didn't sound good at all. Personally in a max I would just run a regular sub, I think the shallow mounts just give single cab truck owners a little bit more room to work with.
