Good speakers...

Ok, I haven't done any audio work on my car of any car ever for that matter. I'm looking for some speakers, nothing too expensive, just something clearer than stock(non bose). Don't have any knowledge of audio equipment otherwise I would do a little bit more. Just want good speakers I can get from best buy(friend works there). Any how-to on changing speakers?

From Best Buy...the Alpine Type R's.

Im sure theres a how-to floating around but I dont have a link. If you give it a few days and dont find a how-to I can write a detailed description of how to pull your doors off.

I personally think you should just go to BB and listen to what you like and let your ears be the judge at this...

Agreed. See what sounds good to you and if you have a contact at BB, maybe they can get you a discount on installation as well. There are quite a few of us that have done our own installs in our 5th gens, so if you end up getting equipment and doing the install yourself and have questions, feel free to ask.

can't go wrong with hook-ups. like mentioned above, just spend a few hours listening to each speaker and see which one sounds good to you...since "good" is very subjective. what sounds good to me doesn't necessarily sound good to you.

i have the alpine type R 6.5s mentioned above, i think they sound good...no complaints...... definatly my pick over any 6.5 at BB, or if too high priced perhaps the type S but id stick with alpine. just my opinion of BB stuff... heres a pic of the speaker in hand that I and Kpr mentioned....
