Re-carpet trunk liner?

How possible/hard to you guys think it is to recarpet the trunk liner? I made a couple slits/holes in it before I fully designed my amp rack and would like to cover it up. I've got a crapload of black speaker box carpet (unbacked by the waxy backing) that I used on my amp rack and will use on my sub box.

I figure It's possible to do the trunk liner as and make it uniform in the process of repairing it...The holes aren't THAT big and a layer of carpet would be adequate to cover it up

I know spray adhesive will be my friend, but as far as the contours, etc? I guess I need more skills with carpeting.....

Thoughts? If this is feasible its also an alternative to finding matching carpet, dying carpet, as well as a VERY MILD form of dampening.
