Simple Amp/Sub Mounting

Ive skimmed this forum and havent found anything too useful, but I am looking to mount a smaller box and an amp in my trunk. I dont want to spend loads of time building a new trunk face, i just want to mount the box to the floor and the amp to a nearby wall.

What are some suggestions? In my 60second inspection I found metal floor and soft walls, so Im a little stuck on how to mount.

Mount the amp to the box (if it fits).

Use L brackets for the box.

Under driver or passenger seat is fine.

You can bolt it to the sheet metal, just be careful where you drill. What you can also do is create a false floor (trace your trunk mat, cut 1 inch smaller all the way around) and then you can just screw the box to that. This method will also help if that cardboard piece in your trunk is sagging.

Depending on the size of the amp, you could fit it under your seat as well.

No prob - let me know if you need any help. 1/4inch thickness is probably too thin and may warp/sag over time. 3/8inch minimum, I'd say.

Box? I hope your subwoofer box is 3/4 inch MDF. I was talking about your false floor....

dont bolt it to your box, it makes it a lot quicker to steal. i would bolt the box down and out the amp somewhere else bolted down.

yeah im gonna go with under the drivers seat for the amp, but brings up another point. Running the power wires from the left are easy enough, but any recommendations for a path for the rca wires running from the deck along the right side to the amp?

RUN THEM TOGETHER. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY INTERFERENCE.

As long as you have half-way decent RCA's, you're in the clear.

Sure, why not. Just make sure your ground is good. If I were you I'd put the amp in the trunk. I have my component amp under my seat and regret not putting it in the trunk.
